I have two very small wildlife ponds in my garden. For the last 15 years one has been overflowing with fat tadpoles by now and the other full of newts engaging in their mating dances and laying their eggs. This year I had one small clump of frog spawn, no toad spawn and one pair of newts. Any ideas out there? has anyone suffered the same this spring????? hopefully it is a one off year and not the beginning of a trend.
