Blonde Hedgehogs

I had a trip to Alderney on Saturday, where apparently 25% of the hedgehogs are "blonde". I didn't get to see a real one, only photos but they look to be albino having a pink nose rather than black. I was told that the colour helps the roadkill rate, being easier for drivers to see (but I might have been having my leg pulled!)

Has anyone seen blonde hedgehogs in the UK?

I'm quite sure we have had blonde hogs at VWR Gary. I'm sure Caroline will put me right if we haven't!! We definitely had a very unusual one some years ago. Not blonde but equally as fascinating if not more because he couldn't be explained! we nicknamed him Bandit while he was with us. I have scanned my photo folders and haven't got one of him but Caroline has a slide for sure, perhaps she will obligue??? over to you Caroline......................
